American Legion event in features Great Clips stylists to benefit veterans
Legion and Great Clips to hold a fundraising event in Atlanta on Nov. 7
No matter how many years ago veterans received their first buzz cut, they still feel the significance and the heartfelt belief they had taken an important step toward something bigger than themselves. Now, veterans and military supporters can accept the Buzz Cut Challenge to share in this act of military service and show support for veterans and their families.
On November 7, 2015, The American Legion Post 29 and Great Clips are joining forces to host a Buzz Cut Challenge event for the Atlanta community at 921 Gresham Ave. NE in Marietta from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
For a suggested donation of $10 at these events*, Great Clips stylists will be on hand to provide buzz cuts to attendees willing to say goodbye to their hair for a great cause — veterans and their families.

People unable to attend the Atlanta Buzz Cut Challenge event can still take part by challenging family, friends and others in their communities to attend the event and by making a donation online at www.Legion.org/BuzzCut.
“It’s an honor to connect with Post 29 to spread a positive message for our troops,” said Rick Aagaard, Great Clips salon franchisee. “This event is also a fun way for Great Clips stylists to go out into the community and give back by sharing their talents for a great cause. We encourage everyone to attend the Atlanta Buzz Cut Challenge event on Nov. 7 or to make an online donation at Legion.org/BuzzCut.”

“Legion Post 29 is thrilled to work together with local Great Clips salon owners and stylists to honor our veterans and active members of the Armed Forces,” said Post Commander Richard Hill. “Getting a buzz cut is a great way to show your support for veterans by sharing in one of the first acts of their military service.”
The Buzz Cut Challenge event is just one way Great Clips is showing appreciation for veterans and active military. On Veterans Day, Great Clips locations throughout Atlanta are giving everyone a way to thank veterans. On Nov. 11, non-veteran customers who visit a Great Clips salon for a haircut will receive a free haircut card** to give to a veteran or servicemember to say thank you. That same day, servicemembers (veteran/active/inactive) can get either a free haircut or one free haircut card to use by Dec. 31, 2015. To date, Great Clips locations nationwide have provided nearly half a million free haircuts for military members and veterans through their “You Can Thank a Veteran” promotion.
* Donations are only accepted at Buzz Cut Challenge events or online at www.Legion.org/BuzzCut.
** Offer valid only on Nov. 11, 2015, at U.S. Great Clips salons only. One card per customer. While supplies last. Cards are redeemable by active, inactive or retired veterans from Nov. 12 – Dec. 31, 2015. Must present proof of service.
