Elevators at Multi-Story Senior Living Center Break Down; Some Residents Stranded

Residents who use walkers or wheelchairs cannot navigate the stairs and are trapped in their homes.

Residents of an Atlanta senior living community are being forced to stay in their homes due to two broken elevators, WSB-TV reports.

Both elevators at Trinity Towers on Springdale Road have gone offline, which has kept wheelchair-bound residents stuck in place. Although one of the facility’s elevators had remained operational, it too broke down on Saturday.

Residents told the station that the problem had been ongoing for months. Maintenance crews were able to restore one of the elevators for around 12 hours, but it broke down again.
