Authorities are continuing their search for the person they believe was behind the wheel of a vehicle which led law enforcement on a wild chase that saw speeds reaching 125 mph on the evening of Oct. 30.
WSB-TV reports that Ross Singleton, 39, of Columbus was spotted by Butts County sheriff’s deputies driving erratically. When the deputies turned on their lights to pull Singleton over, he turned off his headlights and fled up Interstate 75 in a Dodge Charger.

After a 70-mile chase, Singleton’s Charger finally rear ended another vehicle at Exit 267B (Canton Road) on I-75 northbound. After the vehicle crashed, Singleton fled the scene on foot and escaped police. A passenger, identified by CBS Atlanta as Tyrone Williams was arrested, and police discovered a large quantity of marijuana inside the wrecked Charger.
Police say that Singleton has been behind bars several times, and is wanted on a probation violation for an armed robbery charge. A U.S. Marshals Service press release from 2008 indicates that Singleton had been arrested by that agency after disappearing from a work release program following completion of his sentence for a 2003 conviction on charges of cocaine trafficking, possession of burglary tools, obstructing an officer, and impersonation.
