Marietta Police Name "Person of Interest" in Killing of Cab Driver's Son: News Near East Cobb

A suspect in the murder of Tomas Arriola, Jr. was arrested on Monday, but a second suspect remains free.

Marietta police are looking for a “person of interest” who may have been involved in the February killing a taxi driver’s son during a robbery outside a condominium complex.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, police want to speak with 19-year-old James Black regarding the Feb. 18 killing of Tomas Arriola, Jr., who was riding with his father in his taxi when two men robbed him after being dropped off at the St. Augustine condominiums off of Franklin Road. The two suspects fled with $180 after one of the suspects shot and killed the younger man.

Cobb County sheriff’s deputies arrested one suspect on Monday, identified as Adbul Griffin. Griffin faces charges of murder, armed robbery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, the Marietta Daily Journal reports.

Police told the AJC that Black has two distinctive tattoos on the backs of his hands - “New” on the right hand and “York” and the left.
