Slain Cobb Marine's Body Arriving Home

The body of a Cobb County Marine who was shot and killed in Chattanooga by a lone gunman last week will return home today.

LCpl Skip Wells, 21, will arrive at Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport at approximately 12:36 p.m. and be transported to Winkenhofer Pine Ridge Funeral Home in Kennesaw, according to police. The procession will exit I-75 at the Chastain Road exit and proceed down Chastain to McCollum Boulevard and on to Cobb Parkway.

The following intersections will be closed off as the procession makes its way to the funeral home:

• Big Shanty Road
• Cessna Road
• Main Street
• Cobb Parkway

Along Cobb Parkway northbound

• Kennesaw Due West
• Watts Dr
• Jiles Road

Visitation for Wells will be held on Friday and Saturday from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. He will be escorted to Woodstock First Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon for the 2 p.m. memorial service, after which the procession will move to the Georgia Memorial Cemetery in Canton.
