Suspect in Fatal Hotel Shooting Arrested in Marietta
Anthony B. Leftenant, 30, was killed Friday evening at Atlanta Hotel on Old Dogwood Road.

Roswell police have made an arrest in connection to the shooting death of a man at a hotel late last week.
The agency, with the help of the Cobb County Police Department, arrested David Spates, 27, of Marietta Sunday morning, Roswell police spokesperson Zachary Frommer said.

Roswell detectives’ investigation led them to the suspect at a location off Roswell Road in Cobb County where SWAT ”made the arrest without incident,” Frommer stated.
Spates, who has been charged with murder, was transported to the Roswell Detention Center and subsequently to the Fulton County Jail.

Anthony B. Leftenant, 30, of Alpharetta, was killed around 7:40 p.m. July 3 following an argument between three men at Atlanta Hotel, which is located at 9995 Old Dogwood Road.
The argument escalated and “one male was shot outside of a room,” Frommer previously told Patch.
Frommer, who said Leftenant died at the scene from multiple gunshot wounds, added the incident appears to be “drug-related,” and investigators continue to work on identifying any remaining suspects or witnesses.
