Two Plead Guilty for 2013 Killing in East Cobb
The two men were awaiting the start of their murder trial when they pleaded guilty to a lesser charge on Tuesday.

Two men who were behind the 2013 shooting death of an East Cobb man have pleaded guilty to charges related to the incident, the Cobb County District Attorney’s Office announced Tuesday.
Dedric Raheem Baisden, 21, and Dwight Foster Moore, 21, both of Lithonia, pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter for the killing of 30-year-old Brandon Brazil. Brazil was shot 11 times inside the Sedgefield Apartments on Jan. 11, 2013.
Prosecutors said that Baisden and Moore may have been looking to rob Brazil, who dealt marijuana. Brazil had been robbed weeks prior, so he began carrying a .380-caliber handgun to protect himself. When Baisden and Moore entered Brazil’s apartment, a fierce gun battle broke out.

“That doesn’t make this a justified homicide, but it is a mitigated homicide,” Deputy Chief ADA Jesse Evans said.
The killers remained free for a few weeks before tipsters led Cobb police to Moore, who then gave up Baisden, the DA’s Office said. They were facing a Feb. 9 murder trial before they pleaded to the lesser charge.
