• Deceased HCSO K9 remembered (wgtjradio.com) — Hall County residents may have noticed a large sheriff's office motorcade Thursday, honoring K9 Ann, a six-year-old bloodhound who served in more than 200 searches for missing people and suspects. After an autopsy at the University of Georgia, she'll be cremated locally and remembered at a later service, recognizing her years of work protecting Gainesville and surrounding communities.
   

• Gainesville man facing DUI, hit-and-run charges (wgtjradio.com) — A Gainesville resident was arrested after allegedly rear-ending another vehicle on Poplar Springs Road in South Hall, then driving home and being followed by the victim, who called 911. Deputies say they found his damaged vehicle and smelled alcohol, leading to DUI, aggressive driving, following too closely, and hit-and-run charges. No injuries were reported, but the man remained jailed Friday afternoon.
   

• World recognition for NGMC Gville's Green Tower architecture and design (wgtjradio.com) — Northeast Georgia Medical Center Gainesville's Green Tower has earned a major international nod, ranking second in the world for healthcare architecture and design in Interior Design's 2025 Best of Year Awards. Leaders say the honor reflects careful planning to support patients and staff, not just aesthetics. The recognition puts Gainesville's flagship hospital alongside nationally known medical centers in California and Utah.
