Event Details
December Homeschool Day:
Hearth & High Country:
A North Georgia Frontier Winter
Trade the shopping malls for the mountain trails! Shake up your holiday season and experience a living, breathing winter celebration of the raw resourcefulness, rich traditions, and sensory magic of a 19th century North Georgia winter.
Long before flashing electric lights and delivery trucks, December in the North Georgia mountains was a thrilling race against the elements as survival and celebration went hand in hand. Far from modern commercial conveniences, historic mountain families relied on deep environmental knowledge, intercultural collaboration, and sheer creativity to light their homes, preserve their harvests, and pass down their heritage.
