Parkview High receives 4th AI-generated bomb threat this year (fox5atlanta.com) — Parkview High School in Gwinnett County went into lockdown Monday after receiving its fourth AI-generated bomb threat of the school year. Classes later resumed, but Gwinnett County school police are now working with the GBI and FBI to trace the masked calls and identify whoever is behind the ongoing threats.
   

2. Gwinnett County road rage shooting — 23-Year-Old Woman Wanted (koreadaily.com) — A recent road rage confrontation near Hog Mountain Road and Braselton Highway in Gwinnett County escalated when a driver allegedly rammed another car, then returned and fired several shots. Police have identified 23-year-old Sierra Imani Little, seized her vehicle, and obtained warrants, but she remains at large as investigators urge residents to share any tips.
   

3. Internet Celebrity Throws Adorable First Pitch in Triple-A (newsweek.com) — Gwinnett County baseball fans just saw the Stripers' rescue cat, ChipPurr Jones, steal the show by "throwing" a ceremonial first pitch during a pet supply donation night. The Triple-A club's new feline mascot, named after Braves legend Chipper Jones, has quickly become an online sensation while highlighting a fun, community-focused promotion at Coolray Field.
   

4. Fentanyl dealer sentenced to 40 years for 2 Norcross teens' overdose deaths (ocgnews.com) — A Lawrenceville man has been sentenced to 40 years, with 35 to serve, for selling fentanyl-laced pills that killed two Norcross teenagers in 2023. Gwinnett County prosecutors, police, and the medical examiner worked with state investigators to secure convictions under RICO and drug charges, highlighting ongoing efforts to combat deadly fentanyl in local communities.
   

5. Consular Conversations OTP: France (globalatlanta.com) — Gwinnett County residents can hear directly from France's new Consul General at an October 13 Consular Conversations luncheon hosted by the Gwinnett Chamber. The event includes an interview and audience Q&A, with discounted tickets for Chamber members and free admission for Global Atlanta Passport holders, offering a rare chance to explore business and cultural ties with France close to home.
