Walmart Program Offers Relief at the Gas Pump

Great Gas Rollback program, available at several locations in Gwinnett County, could save users as much as 15 cents per gallon.

Reportedly seeking to boost sales, Walmart is offering discounts on gasoline that are as much as 15 cents per gallon.

The retailer announced Monday a Great Gas Rollback program. Walmart customers using a Walmart gift card will receive a 10 cent per gallon discount; customers who use a Walmart MoneyCard or Walmart Credit Card will save 15 cents per gallon on their fuel purchase.

The offer is good at the Murphy USA gas outlets at the participating Walmart stores, including these in Gwinnett County:

  • Buford, 3250 Sardis Church Road
  • Duluth, 2635 Pleasant Hill Road
  • Lawrenceville, 1400 Lawrenceville Highway
  • Lilburn, 4004 Lawrenceville Highway
  • Lilburn/Stone Mountain, 1825 Rockbridge Road
  • Snellville, 3425 Centerville Highway
  • Suwanee, 3245 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road

Based on Georgiagasprices.com on Tuesday, that would yield a price as low as $3.23 per gallon.

Georgia is one of 21 states in which the Walmart offer is good.

According to the Chicago Tribune, Walmart's U.S. sales have slowed in 2013 as higher gasoline prices have affected customers, along with higher U.S. payroll taxes and delayed income tax refunds.
