AUSTELL, GA — Police say the four passengers who were injured after a man was fatally ejected from a Six Flags Over Georgia roller coaster this week were juveniles.

They suffered non-life-threatening injuries when a man fell from a roller coaster Monday afternoon at the Austell theme park, Cobb County Police said late Wednesday afternoon. They were taken to local hospitals for their injuries, police said.

"We understand the community’s concern for these passengers. ... Because they were all juveniles, no further information can be shared," police said in a statement.

The incident happened around 4 p.m. Officers found Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, of Atlanta, unresponsive and not breathing, police said earlier in the week.

Kariem hit the other riders when he was ejected from the roller coaster and fell beneath the ride, police said.

Authorities did not identify the ride, but several media reports say it was the Goliath.

Kariem served as an educator at Wesley International Academy for Atlanta Public Schools. He taught technology, was an IT manager and coached robotics at the school, the school said in a statement posted to Facebook on Tuesday.

The death is at least the seventh at the park since 1989, including two people who were in restricted areas and struck by roller coasters and two who died in auto accidents, according to the Doan Law Firm, which tallies amusement park accidents and represents victims.

In 2006, a man died after likely having a heart attack on the Goliath coaster, the law firm said.

Georgia’s Office of Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner, which oversees annual ride inspections in the state, is “conducting an in‑depth and comprehensive review” of the incident, Garrison Bennett, a Six Flags spokesperson, told The Associated Press.
