8 Fulton Middle School Students To Get $10,000 If They Graduate
The eight students in the Fulton County School System will sign their commitments in a ceremony Wednesday morning with Gov. Nathan Deal.

Eight students in the Fulton County School System on Wednesday will put into writing that they have to graduate high school in order to receive a $10,000 scholarship funded by REACH Georgia.
The students will be accompanied by Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal in a ceremony scheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 24 at the school system’s administrative offices in Atlanta.
The event, the system said, will be similar to athletic scholarship signing ceremonies. The students are all from Elkins Pointe, Haynes Bridge, Holcomb Bridge, McNair, Ridgeview Charter, Sandtown, Sandy Springs and Taylor Road middle schools.

Launched in 2012, REACH Georgia is a needs-based scholarship that begins in eighth grade. REACH scholars are paired with a mentor and an academic coach through high school. Scholars must maintain good behavior, good grades (2.5 GPA in core courses), good attendance and graduate from high school.
Scholars who successfully complete the program and graduate are awarded a $10,000 scholarship that can be used at any HOPE eligible college in Georgia. Many colleges are matching or double-matching this scholarship. The scholarship is in addition to any other grant or scholarship the student receives.
