• Johns Creek sets new dates for millage rate hearings (appenmedia.com) — Johns Creek has rescheduled its 2026 property tax millage hearings to Oct. 15 and Oct. 26 at City Hall, where council will also vote on the rate. The city plans to keep the millage at 3.492 mills, which state law treats as a small tax increase, adding roughly $14 to the bill for a $625,000 home.
• Johns Creek eyes daffodil record without Guinness price tag (appenmedia.com) — Johns Creek residents are invited to help plant about 20,000 daffodils on Oct. 10 at Cauley Creek Park, aiming for an unofficial world record. The free event, led by Johns Creek Beautification and the city, promotes cancer awareness while dramatically expanding last year's smaller planting effort.
• Firefighters visit Ocee Elementary for annual career day (appenmedia.com) — Young students at Ocee Elementary in Johns Creek recently met firefighters from Station 64 during the school's Careers on Wheels Day, getting a close look at gear and a fire engine. Children also practiced key safety skills like calling 911 and stop, drop and roll, alongside visits from police, DEA agents, ambulance staff, and a local towing company.
