Armed Home Invaders Strike Near Johns Creek
Intruders entered home through open garage door in Glen Abbey subdivision.

A Garrick Point family was the victim of a home invasion Thursday, Sept. 15, at 8:30 p.m., the Glen Abbey homeowners association announced to its residents through its management company Friday night.
A home invasion is under investigation at this time, confirmed George Gordon, the Alpharetta Department of Public Safety spokesperson. The department will have no other comments during the investigation, he said. Glen Abbey is located off Kimball Bridge Road near the intersection with State Bridge Road and Old Milton Parkway.
According to the HOA's email, four or five masked and armed persons entered the home through an open garage door where the homeowner was working.

The intruders tied up the family and then went through the home, reportedly taking cash and jewelry. They left after about an hour.
"The police are asking for your help. If you saw or heard anything suspicious on Garrick Point last night (any suspicious persons, vehicles or activity), please email one of the investigating detectives at: bsmith@alpharetta.ga.us," the HOA's email said. "Sometimes you may think the smallest detail isn't important, but it is still best to report it to the police. "

The management office also used the email to remind homeowners to not hesitate to call the police to report suspicious persons or sounds at their homes, as police would rather respond to nothing than having to deal with something worse later.
"Also, please be sure to close your garage doors. The police officers this morning saw two garage doors open while on the property," the email said.
Police will increase patrols in the neighborhood and the HOA Board of Directors has asked for additional coverage on security patrols, from Guarded Security.
