Atlanta Youth Orchestra Holds Summer Orchestra Music Camp June 11-16, JCUMC

The Atlanta Youth Orchestra, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is excited to announce an outstanding opportunity for area students. The AYO is offering a summer orchestra music camp – complete orchestral training for rising eight grade students through rising college freshman. The 2018 Summer Training Camp will provide all coaching by members of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, while led by AYO Artistic Director and Conductor, Maestro Michael Palmer. Revered for his conducting excellence from his early days at the ASO to his leadership at GA State, Maestro Palmer directs music festivals and orchestras across the United States. Founded by William Pu, owner of the William Pu Music Academy, the AYO’s mission is to provide the highest possible level of instruction and performance, while focusing on the value of music education, world citizenship, and promoting peace through cultural exchange.

Mr. Pu is an exceptional violinist who spent twelve years as the Associate Concertmaster with the ASO, and prior to that was the Assistant Concertmaster of the Houston Symphony. He seeks to bring to our area students a very unique summer experience where these young musicians will have the benefit of training and instruction by some of the very best professionals in all of the Atlanta Metro, and the entire Southeast!

The camp will be held from Monday, June 11th to Saturday, June 16th at Johns Creek United Methodist Church. Tuition is $450 plus a nonrefundable $35 registration fee. Some tuition incentives are available, including referral benefits . Students must have had at least one year of instrument instruction, and auditions will be at the discretion of the program director. A limited number of scholarships will be available based on need.
