Autrey Mill Nature Preserve Hosting Activities In February

Autrey Mill Nature Preserve is offering several activities throughout the month of February.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Autrey Mill Nature Preserve is offering several activities throughout the month of February.

The Adopt-a-Stream Chemical Monitoring Workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday. Participants will learn about chemical sampling techniques, while shaping their views on watershed issues. After the training, participants will be certified by the Georgia Adopt-a-Stream program for chemical monitoring. Register on the Autrey Mill website.

For the home school programs, the nature preserve is hosting a Gazing at the Stars program for ages 9-13, grades 5-8. The advanced class is designed to inspire exploration, appreciation, and preservation of local history and the natural environment.

Registration is now open for Autrey Mill’s camps, which explore the natural environment and help instill an appreciation of history and nature through crafts, games, puzzles, and historical artifacts.

Autrey Mill is currently seeking summer camp counselors. Those interested must commit to least five weeks of camp. If interested, submit a resume and cover letter to lauren.mcdaniel@autreymill.org.
