52 Bistro - "A Downtown Experience"

52 Bistro: a warm cozy establishment

Remember back in the 1982 when "Cheers" first aired on TV and their theme song went something like "you want to go where everybody knows your name." I can hear the tune in my head! Am I dating myself here? Well, 52 Bistro is just that kind of establishment. It is situated in a comfortable little house where you are welcomed as if you are an old friend.

The restaurant is tucked away behind several art galleries and interior design stores just off Main Street in Alpharetta. There's a sign but it can easily be missed. Note to owners- make the sign more visible.

Last night I had the pleasure of dining at 52 Bistro with some new friends. I am a frequent guest at 52 Bistro and made the recommendation that we try it. There were some little quirks to be worked out with our server, but mainly a good food experience.

I had the Salmon BLT served with Avocado and Chipotle Aioli sauce. It was delicious. Alissa and Scarlett had the Beef Medallions which are served with wild mushrooms, onions and Yukon gold mashed potatoes. It was presented beautifully. Tara ordered one of my favorites, the Shrimp Scampi Flatbread, which she said was also scrumptious.

The atmosphere is cozy and warm. Business Manager Geoff Kokoszka states that this is a "downtown experience " right here in Alpharetta. There is no need to travel to Midtown, Downtown, the Highlands or anywhere else if we have these restaurants so close to home. I agree.

Donna Beal, the manager, greeted me with a friendly hug and a smile. She is eager to thank me for coming back to dine with my friends and made me feel welcome.

The attention to detail, and not just because I am the Food Snob, is evident by the thought behind the menu and the camaraderie of the staff. Francis is a doll.

Each entree is prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients. The menu is full of everything from soup and salad to steak and potatoes. In addition, the prices are quite reasonable. Donna told us the chef is preparing additional menu selections for the changing season.

The menu also features moderately priced wines and some of the tastiest martinis I've ever had. Wine is half price on Wednesdays and Monday is Martini Night. Yum!

Dare I mention the desserts? I had a mouth watering Chocolate Heath Cake that was sooooo over the top moist and divine... well enough said about that, I'm getting carried away about my chocolate! Creme Brulee and Death By Chocolate were the two other desserts for Alissa, Tara and Scarlett. Each one got similar reviews.

The owners of 52 Bistro live locally and are delighted to say "Welcome to our house." Special occasion celebrations are welcomed. Brunch and lunch are also served at 52 Bistro. This little find is a delightful place to go with friends for a evening of friendship and fun.
