I'm back home after a glorious week in Amsterdam. What an amazing city! My time in Holland was a wonderful experience full of shopping, laughing and learning. Yes, that's right – I was actually able to learn while I was there!
I had several days to gallivant about the city and take in the sites, my favorite of which were the boys! SO MANY BOYS! Good looking, well dressed, perfectly coiffed boys! A slice of heaven if you ask me. But that's for another blog post.
Anywho, after exploring Amsterdam I was lucky enough to have two intensive days of classes with an extremely talented stylist by the name of Olaf van den Wildenberg who was assisted by the lovely Danielle Piceni-Overing. I know, the name alone is enough make you fall in love with him! Olaf is a salon owner, L'Oreal educator, world-renowned stylist, and a true inspiration!

The group of hair artists I was traveling with hailed from all over America and they were an incredible group of talent – such an honor to learn with them. In our days together, Olaf showed our class the collection he and his team had created titled Angel and Devil. Then we were set loose to create our own versions of these looks. So much fun! I came home with some really cool cut and color techniques; an adorable shag with ombre highlights and a sleek short cut with block coloring, just to name a few.
I cannot put into words how thankful I am to have been able to have the educational experience and a European vacation on top of that! I learned hair can transcend language and cultural barriers and that all you need is a great teacher to reignite your passion for something you love.

Luckily hair is not only my passion, but my career. Man, I am a lucky lady!
Dank je wel Olaf and Danielle!
