Getting Anywhere with Johns Creek Construction?
The Food Snob vents about Johns Creek road construction! Anyone else frustrated?
OMG! Will this construction never end? This is not a rhetorical question. I am actually going nuts. I usuallly blog about travel and food, but since every street from my neighborhood to ANYWHERE is under construction, not only am I "Not Eating That," I'm not eating anything but what I have at home.
Is anyone out there as sick of this mess as I am? It's literally driving me crazy.
Do you think anyone thought about the consequences of doing all the roads at the same time, or do you think they just figured since McGinnis Ferry was supposed to be finished already, they decided it wouldn't matter if they left it and moved on to other roads? Are you feeling my frustration??

I called the offices of the City of Johns Creek, last week, to speak to someone about this mess and guess what, I haven't received a call back yet. What a surprise.
I am seriously thinking of asking the city to pay my gas bill from driving around in circles last week. Here's a review of last weeks antics. I left my home and attempted to get onto Bell Road, oops, no the road was under construction, can't get through, turned around to go back to McGinnis, oops not this way either, traffic was at a complete stop. Turned around again to get to Medlock Bridge via Lakeside, oh no, not this way either, Medlock Bridge construction had this road closed from Bell Road heading south (I think toward Norcorss is south) also. What to do? I took Johns Creek Parkway (or whatever the name of that road in Technology Park is, back to McGinnis Ferry Road, going east toward the Chattahoochee (at least I think it's east). I'm from New York where we makes lefts and rights and don't know which way east or west is, and proceeded to go back home. I cancelled my appointment as I was already 30 minutes late and explained that I would have to reschedule. Any one feeling the love yet?

What is the solution? Seriously, I'm asking. If anyone in the mayor's office is reading this, please feel free to call me and tell me when I may be able to reach my friends in Alpharetta. Oh, by the way, Douglas Road is also under construction, as is Sargent Road and McGinnis Ferry across Medlock.
Yes, I already know that when it's completed things will be better. Not exactly. Have you ever been on State Bridge during rush hour, approaching Medlock Bridge. Same traffic issues there as we will see on McGinnis Ferry. Construction or not, these roads are still not built for all the residents.
I am venting here because I am hoping that it will make me feel better (not so much so far). Thanks for listening.
