Hungry To Read

Kids Hungry to Read 'The Hunger Games'

It has been a long time since I saw children this hungry to read! I am co-owner of on Holcomb Bridge Road in Johns Creek. One night this week, a mother came in with her 9-year-old daughter to purchase The Hunger Games. The daughter, smiling and hugging her new book, could not wait to get out of the store to start reading. The next day she came back in, this time with her father and they bought Catching Fire, the second book in the trilogy. She had read The Hunger Games in one night! Again she was all smiles and anxious to get started on Catching Fire.

Tuesday afternoon a young guest sat on the floor reading The Hunger Games, petting Dude, our canine store mascot!

In this world of Ipods, PS3s and Blu-Ray, it is so good to know that children are still reading. Or, maybe back to reading! Whichever the case, I still smile when I think of how happy that little girl was to get a book to read!
