Jack's Chattanoogins Shaving Heads for a Cause
Sunday, June 10, the Tennessee Market will host Jack's Chattanoogins, a head-shaving event benefitting the Erlanger Hospital of Chattanooga, Tenn.

On Sunday, June 10, Jack Skowronnek of Johns Creek, his family and local participants will be hosting a shaving-heads event called Jack’s Chattanoogins that will benefit the Chattanooga Erlanger Hospital at the Tennessee Market in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Soon his long, blonde, shaggy hair will be scattered across the floor at the annual Chattanooga Market, and he couldn’t be more excited.
“Other people get nervous right before they shave their heads, but in the end they’re happy with it. They know that they’re doing a really good thing,” he said.

Jack is not your average 14-year-old. Since the age of 10 he has participated and hosted three annual head shaving events that provide donations to the Chattanooga Erlanger Hospital. This year he will be teaming up with the Children’s Hospital Foundation to help local kids battling cancer.
Jack has been raising money yearly for the local Chattanooga hospital and the pediatric oncology patients for the past three years, all because of the inspiration he felt after reading Drums, Girls, and Dangerous Pie by Jordan Sonnenblick.

“The book made me feel like I should be doing something to help kids that are going through cancer,” he said.
It’s unbelievable to think how far the organization has come since that first year. As of recently, Jack’s Chattanoogins have raised around $7,800, steadily climbing towards their remarkable goal of $30,000.
