I DON'T LOVE SUMMER. Yup, that's right. In fact, I might even hate it. I wear a lot of make up and like to dress in layers. I'd say summer is my enemy.
However, every year at the same time here it comes to make me look like a melty-faced, flat-haired mess. There is nothing worse than taking to the time to do a full face of make up only to have it run off 15 minutes later. Praise the Lord for air conditioning, otherwise I'd have to go into hiding for the season.
Luckily, after enduring 24 Hotlanta summers I've learned a few tricks. I'm obsessed with Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, which are light, all natural, and give amazing coverage sans the clogging of pores.

The key to getting your flawless face to stay put begins with a primer. Simply apply a thin layer of Youngblood Mineral Primer to a freshly moisturized face, allow a few minutes of dry time then buff on your foundation, whether it be Youngblood liquid or powder. Apply a dusting of YB Sundance bronzer and you are good to go!
Another summertime downside I just loathe is how dull and lifeless my hair color looks. I spent all weekend up at Lake Blue Ridge tubing and whipping around on a jet ski. I did not follow the sun protection advice I give my clients on a daily basis and today I regret it!

The best thing you can do for your hair whether you are blonde, brunette, or anything in between is UV protection. If I'm at the beach, pool, or lake I always use a product by Kerastase called Huile Celeste. You simply mist this shimmering macadamia oil infused sun protectant on dry or damp hair before sun exposure and then reapply as needed. It's just like a sunscreen for your hair, plus you look like a glistening goddess!
These tips won't make this hellish heat go away but it will definitely make it a little bit more bearable. Until it is gone I will be counting down the days to the perfect fall weather!
