The Food Snob Eats French Cuisine

French restaurant is manifique!!

In my new endeavor as a AAA Travel Counseler (Mansell Road office opening Dec. 19), I was invited to a luncheon yesterday, which was a great way to begin a new job.

We attented a meeting and presentation with Uniworld, a River Cruise Company. The luncheon was held at Violette located at 2948 Clairmont Road, Atlanta. I know, this is not Johns Creek,  but venturing out is always a good idea.

The menu was set for us, but the choices, manifique!!!

I ordered the Trout with Shrimp in Almond Butter and Capers, served with julienne vegetables and rice. Excellent. The taste was subtle and yet extremely tasty.

I also sampled the Boeuf Bourgignon, which I must also say was tres bonne!

Dessert was, you guessed it, chocolate mousse. It was served on a plate surrounded with powdered sugar and presented beautifully. All in all, the meeting was a great success and I would have to agree that the restaurant was also.

Violette has a unique exterior and you may pass it by thinking it is a small warehouse. Once inside, you will be amazed at the decor and the size of this lovely place. There is ample parking, indoor and outdoor seating, covered glass-enclosed patio, a beautiful bar next to the piano and a large private room in the back. I can tell you, I was so surprised by the size of the restaurant. It was like walking in to a French bistro anywhere in Paris!! Oh, I miss Paris so maybe my brain is focused on what I think should look like a French bistro in Atlanta.

Anyway, it was a fabulous experience and I plan on bringing my husband and friends, the usual suspects, to enjoy this experience.

Check it out as a nice change of scenery and step into a whole new world only 25 minutes from Johns Creek!

Bon Appetit!!!
