Johns Creek Students 'Can Do Good' To Help Feed Less Fortunate Residents
The students on Saturday will creative structures using canned goods, which will then be donated to North Fulton Community Charities.

Students at north Fulton high schools in Roswell, Alpharetta, Milton and Johns Creek on Saturday will take part in a creative initiative designed to help local food banks and other charities.
High school students from King’s Ridge Chrisitan School and Cambridge, Centennial, Independence and Johns Creek high schools will build creative structures using canned goods, which will then be donated to North Fulton Community Charities.
The live build will take place at 9 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 8 at North Point Mall’s West Court — near Dillard’s/Von Maur — at 1000 North Point Circle in Alpharetta. Judging of each of the school’s creation will take place at noon.

Saturday’s event is part of Can Do Good, is a social design-build competition organized by architecture and engineering firm Goodwyn, Mills and Cawood, Inc. for high school students throughout the southeast.
Students organize canned food drives and design and build creative structures using their collected items, which are then donated to local food banks or other charitable organizations.

The initiative is open to all high schools in Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina and Tennessee.
Five teams will advance to the final round of judging. GMC will match the winning school’s donation and present the award the overall winner the title of Best Can Do Good Structure in the southeast, along with a check for $2,500.
