Candidate Qualifies For Johns Creek City Council Seat
Issure Yang is running for the Post 1 seat held by incumbent Lenny Zaprowski.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Another Johns Creek resident is running for a spot on the City Council in the Nov. 7 election. Issure Yang is a candidate for the Post 1 seat, challenging incumbent Lenny Zaprowski on the municipal election ballot.
Yang said she is running to primarily address the three T's that plague Johns Creek: traffic, taxes and term limits.
With regards to traffic, Yang said she wants to see the city apply strategies to address this issues by taking advantage of the technology readily available to Johns Creek, such as real time light synchronization and real time reports on traffic patterns "instead of forcing expensive solutions that may permanently change the appearance of the city."

"The city must put contracts out to bid to not only get the best value, but the best quality that residents expect and deserve," she added. "We should not allow any element of our government to overspend, overtax, or over waste."

She also said she supports term limits, imposing a moratorium on development until the traffic issues are resolved, amending the City Charter to reflect stronger ethics expectations from elected officials and city staff members and improving communication and information flow from the city.
Yang grew up in Stone Mountain and moved to Peachtree Corners during her teenage years. She is a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology and currently works as an independent consultant with expertise in customer experience, product management, marketing and cyber security.
The mother of two children, Yang has a daughter who is a freshman at the University of Alabama and a son who is a sophomore at Johns Creek High School. She has been involved with her children's extracurricular activities for several years, serving on the board for the Johns Creek High School cheer program and volunteering with her son's lacrosse team. She is currently the vice president for staff support with Johns Creek High School's PTSA.

As a City Council member, Yang said she will advocate for residents and push for open dialogue with the community to better serve its needs. She also said she looks forward to serving "residents with the thoroughness, thoughtful diligence and dedication she is known for."
The last day to register to vote in the Nov. 7 municipal election is Oct. 10, and Fulton County will hold early voting Monday, Oct. 16 through Friday, Nov. 3. This will also include voting on Saturday, Oct. 28 and Sunday, Oct. 29. Please note this early voting time period does not include Saturday, Oct. 21 or Sunday, Oct. 22. Early voting locations will be announced in the coming weeks.
