Christmas Tree, Dreidel Lighting Returns Nov. 30
The city of Johns Creek will kick off the holiday season with its annual event at Newtown Park.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The city of Johns Creek usher in the 2017 holiday season with the lighting of its 30-foot Christmas tree and Dreidel display at Newtown Park. The festivities will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30.
You can expect to see Santa Claus, his reindeer, Christmas carols sang by local elementary school students, crafts, kids' activities, music and the tree and Dreidel lighting on display at the Park Place event lawn. Of course, Santa will be on hand to take your youngsters' wish lists.
If you want to munch on a snack, Big C's Chicago Kitchen food truck will be selling pizza, hot dogs and other tasty treats. If you're thirsty, the city will have free hot chocolate and coffee as well as s'mores while those goodies last. The Johns Creek Veterans Association will also be selling food.

The celebration concludes at 8 p.m., guests will be invited to sign giant holiday cards for military personnel at our three Georgia veterans’ hospitals. The city is also collecting new, unwrapped toys for Toys for Tots, so be sure to bring one to the event or to drop off at City Hall at 10700 Abbotts Bridge Road Suite 190. Donations are being accepted through mid-December.
