Community Safety Day On Saturday in Johns Creek
The event, which also helps heighten awareness about basic safety issues, will be held Oct. 1 at the State Bridge Corners Shopping Center.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- On Saturday, you will have the chance to see several demonstrations performed by the Johns Creek police and fire departments.
The agencies will be on hand for the city's Community Safety Day, which will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Oct. 1 at the State Bridge Corners Shopping Center.
Community Safety Day is a free event and serves as a precursor to Fire Prevention Week, which runs Oct. 9-15.

The day also helps heighten awareness about basic safety issues. Firefighters and police officers perform a variety of rope rescue, motorcycle, K-9 and fire extinguisher demonstrations, and SWAT exercises to show some of the many skills they use regularly.
Attendees can ask questions of Johns Creek firefighters and police officers and learn about public safety vehicles and equipment. Informational handouts and safety checklists are available, and the event features children’s activities and food and drinks.

Citizens are asked not to bring their pets due to K9 officers being present. The event will take place in the Home Depot & Target parking lots at 5950 State Bridge Road.
