Community Safety Day Scheduled For Oct. 14

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The Johns Creek Police and Fire departments will showcase several demonstrations as part of the agencies' annual Community Safety Day. The popular event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 14 at the State Bridge Corners Shopping Center.

Demonstrations will be held in the Home Depot and Target parking lots at 5950 State Bridge Road (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

This free event helps bolster community awareness about basic safety issues. Firefighters and police officers perform a variety of rope rescue, motorcycle, K-9 and fire extinguisher demonstrations, SWAT exercises and other safety demonstrations.

Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions to Johns Creek firefighters and police officers and learn about public safety vehicles and equipment. Informational handouts and safety checklists will also be available and the event will include children's activities and food and drinks.

The State Bridge Corners Shopping Center is located at 5950 State Bridge Road in Johns Creek.
