Drug Abuse Prevention Workshop Scheduled For Saturday

Summit Counseling Center's Hope For Our Community workshop will cover treatment options for heroin and opioid abuse and Narcan training.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- On Saturday, the Summit Counseling Center will host a H.O.P.E. (Heroin and Opioid Prevention Education) For Our Community workshop for the Johns Creek and surrounding neighborhoods.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 14 at the organization's main office located at 2750 Old Alabama Road in Johns Creek.

This workshop is free of charge, but registration is required by calling 678-893-5300 or registering online at SummitCounseling.org.

The workshop will cover current state laws, education surrounding family intervention and treatment options and a training program on Narcan, which which can temporarily reverse an overdose of heroin, codeine, fentanyl, hydrocodone, hydromorphone, methadone, morphine and oxycodone.

Attendees will receive a Narcan training certificate at the completion of the training program.
