Drug Take-Back Day On April 29 In Johns Creek

You can drop off expired or unused prescription or other medications anonymously in the parking lot of Target.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- If you have old and unwanted prescription or pharmaceutical drugs lingering in your drawers or medicine cabinets, the city of Johns Creek will offer a unique and safe way to dispose of these items.

The Johns Creek Police Department will take part in the Drug Enforcement Administration's National Take Back Initiative.

Scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 29, the event allows anyone with expired, unwanted, or excess pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medicines can turn them in anonymously to Johns Creek officers in the parking lot of Target at 5950 State Bridge Road).

The event, sponsored by the Johns Creek Police Department in conjunction with the DEA, is designed to: reduce prescription drug abuse; reduce the risk of prescription drugs entering the water (do not flush drugs down the toilet); and help people comply with the law regarding disposal of prescription drugs.
