Early Voting Results: More Than 260,000 Cast Ballots in Fulton

The county says 260,934 voters went to the polls during the early voting period for the 2016 general election.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The final numbers are in, and Fulton County has surpassed its early voting projections by more than 10,000 votes.

Fulton County Registration and Elections officials say 26,985 voters cast their ballots on Friday, Nov. 4, the final day of early voting.

As a result, 260,934 residents voted early in the 2016 general election, the county said Sunday.

The final tally shows the county exceeded its expectations that 250,000 citizens will cast ballots by the end of the early voting period.

“In spite of lines reaching 300 people or more in length, they heard no grumbling, only people looking forward to vote,” said Richard Barron, director of Fulton County Registration and Elections. “We surpassed 2008 and 2012 with more than 111,000 and 109,000 early voters, respectively.”

If you were among the residents who've yet to vote, polls will open at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8 for Election Day.
