Emory Johns Creek Hospital To Host Blood Drive

Blood donations often decline in the summer, as many donors are on vacation.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Next week, Emory Johns Creek Hospital will host a blood drive to support the American Red Cross.

The drive will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 21.  

Christina Vick, lab director for Emory Johns Creek Hospital, notes blood donations often decline in the summer because many donors are on vacation.

“By donating blood or platelets, donors can maintain an adequate supply for patients and avoid a summer shortage in blood supply,” Vick said. 

To schedule an appointment, visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: emoryjohnscreek or call 1-800-RED-CROSS (1-800-733-2767). All donors will receive a free T-shirt.

For those looking to participate, the American Red Cross states it is important to "eat well and drink plenty of water before and after giving blood," Emory Johns Creek Hospital said. 

The campaign will take place in Classrooms A and B at the hospital, which is located at 6325 Hospital Parkway in Johns Creek.
