Fall Season Brings Slew of Classes, Activities at Park Place

Spend the fall season getting fit, expanding your artistic skills, or taking field trips in one of the many programs offered at Park Place at Newtown School, Johns Creek’s active adult center for folks 62 or older.

Park Place offers a variety of classes and programs such as Zumba, cooking workshops, Book Club, Evening Dinner Club, art classes, films and trips to fun destinations around the metro Atlanta region and beyond.
Mark your calendars several fun events this fall, including Give Back Day on Sept. 16, the Park Place Anniversary Party on Sept. 24 and a Fashion Show on Sept. 28.

The active adult center also offers Silver Sneakers/FLEX Fitness yoga, Strength & Balance and Cardio & Strength, which is a total body workout in one fun hour.
The FLEX program is funded by insurance companies, and works with adult activity centers like Park Place to provide certified instructors that offer free or reduced cost fitness classes and programs.
To find out if you are eligible to participate in the program, fill out a registration form at Park Place.
Johns Creek residents are given first priority for all programs. If additional registrants are needed to conduct a class or program or to achieve a more-enhanced experience, registration may be opened to non-resident Park Place guests.
Park Place is located at Newtown Park -- located at 3125 Old Alabama Road -- and is open Monday through Wednesday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon. The center is closed on Sundays and city-observed holidays.
