Family Finds 'Disoriented,' Naked Intruder Inside Home

The man told Johns Creek police that he thought he was in the apartment unit he was scheduled to clean.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — A family of three was greeted with an unwelcome surprise last month when a naked man was found inside their apartment unit in Johns Creek. The bizarre encounter began when a father and his son returned home around 5:05 p.m. April 22 to find the unknown intruder inside their residence at ARIUM Johns Creek Apartments.

According to an incident report released by the Johns Creek Police Department, the father said he returned home with his son to find the front door "slightly ajar." The front door was locked when he left home, the father told police.

Once inside the home, he looked up towards the second floor, and saw a man wearing only a thin, red towel wrapped around his head and face standing at the top of the stairs. The father told police he approached the man and asked what he was doing inside the home.

The man, later identified as 34-year-old Kayed Ayoub Said, said he "worked for the association, but then stated he worked for maintenance," the report adds. The father said Said tried to leave the house, but he was able to keep the intruder inside until police arrived.

According to the report, a daughter who also lived at the apartment was in her bedroom when she heard the voices of her brother, father and the unknown man coming from outside her door. She walked out of the bedroom and made her way down to the living room where she saw her family and Said.

The officer who responded to the scene noted Said, who lives in Acworth, was lethargic, "very slow" to answer questions, and that "his eyes looked straight through me." When asked about the incident, Said said everything was a "blur."

"He just thought the apartment he was in was the one he was supposed to clean," the officer wrote, adding Said appeared to be "disoriented" as though he was on some type of medication.

Said was transported to WellStar North Fulton Hospital to be evaluated. He was subsequently transported to a mental health treatment facility for additional care.

Jail records show he was later booked into the Fulton County Jail on May 3 on one count of criminal trespassing. He was released on the same day after posting a $2,750 bond.
