Free Outdoor Fitness Classes Return To Newtown Park

The first group class for 2018 will be held Sunday, April 15 at the Newtown Park Amphitheater in Johns Creek.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — Free outdoor fitness classes will soon return to Newtown Park in Johns Creek, providing residents a chance to explore a new way to get in shape or enjoy the company of others who love exercising outdoors.

Certified instructors teach these classes and all fitness levels are welcome to participate. The free group classes at the Newtown Park Amphitheater begin Sunday, April 15 and run through Sunday, Oct. 28. Class begins at 10 a.m. and run for one hour.

Classes include outdoor Zumba, yoga, and Barless-Barre classes. Zumba is a popular fitness program that combines popular music with easy-to-follow dance moves for an effective and exhilarating calorie-burning workout.

Yoga moves at a slower pace, improving flexibility, muscle tone, strength, and stress management through stretches, poses, and relaxation techniques. The bar-less Barre classes are ballet inspired exercises that use small isometric movements to build muscle, improve posture, balance, and flexibility.

Be sure to check out the city’s calendar for a complete listing of classes. All participants must bring their own yoga mats; there is no equipment needed for the Zumba classes. Participants under the age of 16 are welcome but must be accompanied by an adult.
