Free Outdoor Fitness Classes Start April 3 in Johns Creek

Zumba and yoga classes will be held the first and third Sundays from April through October.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- If you're brave enough to face the pollen, then you will want to check out Johns Creek's upcoming outdoor free fitness classes.

Whether you're looking to try something new or you just enjoy working out in a fun outdoor atmosphere, these classes are a great workout. Certified instructors teach these popular classes and all fitness levels are welcome.

Classes, which include outdoor Zumba and yoga, will be held at the Newtown Park Amphitheater.

The free group classes begin Sunday, April 3. Sign-in is at 8:30 a.m. and class begins at 9 a.m. All classes are one hour.

Zumba is a popular fitness program that combines Latin music with easy to follow dance moves for an effective and exhilarating calorie-burning workout. Yoga, of course, moves at a slower pace, improving flexibility, muscle tone, strength, and stress management through stretches, poses and relaxation techniques.

Classes will be held on the first and third Sundays from April through October. The 2016 schedule is as follows: 

  • April 3 - Yoga
  • April 17 - Zumba
  • May 1 - Yoga
  • May 15 - Zumba
  • June 5 - Yoga
  • June 19 - Zumba
  • July 3 - Yoga
  • July 17 - Zumba
  • August 7 - Yoga
  • August 21 - Zumba
  • September 4 - Yoga
  • September 18 - Zumba
  • October 2 - Yoga
  • October 16 - Zumb

All participants must bring their own yoga mats, and there is no equipment needed for the Zumba classes. Participants under the age of 16 are welcome, but must be accompanied by an adult.
