Fulton County Board of Commissioners voted on Wednesday to update the mask policy for Fulton Government buildings to follow CDC guidelines which state that vaccinated people are not required to wear masks.

District 1 Commissioner, Liz Hausmann put forth the motion after a discussion about the vaccination status in Fulton County which raised a number of questions about the mask restrictions. Hausmann cited the need for consistency and pointed out that Fulton County schools are no longer requiring masks and that the Governor has relaxed many of the restrictions that had been in place. The motion passed with 5 yea votes and 1 nay vote.

The revised mask policy makes an exception for clinical settings, vaccination sites, and health offices and relies on the honor system for enforcement.

In spite of the 6/2/21 resolution, at least one Fulton County Building is still requiring both temperature checks and masks. The North Fulton County Government Services Center, at 7741 Roswell Road, was requiring both temperature checks and masks as of 11:30 on June 3rd. The security guard at this facility was not providing any alternative to masks and prevented at least one citizen from accessing the building to obtain a voter registration form.
