Fulton County School Calendar 2018-19

When is the first day of school for Fulton County schools? Plus, other must-know dates for students, parents and teachers.

FULTON COUNTY, GA — The summer has (nearly) come and gone, and your little ones will soon return to classes in the Fulton County School System. The first day of school is Monday, Aug. 6 for students, with pre-planning set for July 31 through Aug. 3 for system teachers.

Here are some other notable dates for the 2018-19 calendar:

First Semester

  • Sept. 3: Labor Day (schools closed)
  • Oct. 5: Teacher Workday (students off)
  • Oct. 8: Columbus Day (schools closed)
  • Nov. 19-23: Thanksgiving Holidays (schools closed)
  • Dec. 20: Last Day of First Semester
  • Dec. 21-31: Winter Break (schools closed)

Second Semester

  • Jan. 1-2: Winter Break (schools closed)
  • Jan. 3: Teacher Workday (students off)
  • Jan. 4: Professional Development Day (students off)
  • Jan. 7- 8: First Day of Second Semester
  • Jan. 21: Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (schools closed)
