Fulton School Board Adopts Tax Rate

The Fulton County School System's millage rate is the lowest it has been since 2010.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- On Wednesday, the Fulton County School Board approved its fiscal year 2017 millage rates during its working retreat.

The combined rate of 18.483 mill is the lowest school tax rate in metro Atlanta, the system said.

Fulton County’s total millage consists of two rates – a maintenance and operations (M&O) rate and a debt service rate. Board members adopted an 18.483 M&O rate and a 0.0 mill debt service rate, making the total – 18.483 mills – the lowest Fulton County schools millage rate since 2010.

“Our taxpayers will be very pleased to know that our adopted millage rates are the lowest in metro Atlanta – a tax savings to most property owners,” said Fulton Schools Superintendent Jeff Rose. “This is due to the school board’s sound financial management and their mindfulness to keeping taxes low while still appropriately funding our schools.”
