Fulton Schools To Honor Top Teachers, Principals
The school system on Friday will hold its annual Legacy of Excellence luncheon to pay tribute to its employees of the year.

Fulton County School System’s top employees will be honored on Friday at the district’s annual Legacy of Excellence luncheon.
The two-hour program begins at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 14 at the Georgia World Congress Center’s Georgia Ballroom (Building C), located at 285 International Boulevard NW in Atlanta.

Donna Lowry, kids and schools reporter from WXIA 11Alive, will serve as the program emcee. More than 1,000 employees, business partners and special guests will gather to pay tribute to each school’s and administrative building’s employees of the year. The celebration also is a time when schools formally honor the partnerships that have made outstanding contributions to student achievement.
Jennifer Sweigart from Hillside Elementary School will be honored as Fulton County Schools’ Teacher of the Year while Kindra Smith of Roswell North Elementary School will be recognized as the district’s Principal of the Year.

Olivia Gonzalez, a bilingual parent liaison at Riverwood International Charter School, will be honored as the School Professional of the Year, and Larry Keen, a bus driver with the Transportation Department, will be honored as the Support Professional of the Year.
The district will also recognize teachers and principals of the year at its elementary, middle and high schools. Additionally, teachers, principals, school professionals and support professionals of the year finalists from each learning community will also be recognized.
In addition, 64 partnerships are being recognized as Blue Ribbon Partners. The distinction recognizes outstanding relationships between schools and their business/community partners.
Of these, 21 are specially highlighted as Prestigious Partners. Hapeville Exchange Club, in partnership with Tri-Cities High School, is receiving the overall 2014 Prestigious Partner award.
