Fulton Schools See Boost In ACT Composite Scores
The Fulton County School System's ACT composite score is also higher than the state and national averages.

FULTON COUNTY, GA —The Fulton County School System continues to outperform the state and nation on the ACT, with eight of the district’s 18 high schools increasing their composite scores in 2018.
The state’s composite score for 2018 is 21.4, while the national score clocks in at 20.8. The overall composite score for Fulton in 2018 is 23.7, down a hair from 23.8 in 2017. Scores also declined nationally, while the state’s composite score remained the same.
Of the district’s 18 high schools, Alpharetta High School, Banneker High School, Cambridge High School, Chattahoochee High School, Hapeville Career Charter, Johns Creek High School, Milton High School and Roswell High School all had increases in composite scores for 2018.

FCS has also seen an all-time high in the percentage of students meeting the ACT College Readiness Benchmarks in all subject areas. Six schools increased the percentage of students meeting benchmarks in 2018: Alpharetta, Banneker, Cambridge, Creekside, Milton and Roswell.

The benchmarks are scores on the ACT subject-area tests that represent the level of achievement required for students to have a 50 percent chance of obtaining a B or higher, or about a 75 percent chance of obtaining a C or higher, in corresponding credit-bearing first-year college courses.
The number of Fulton students taking the ACT also increased slightly this year, from 3,728 in 2017 to 3,736 in 2018.
