Fulton Seniors Receive Fine Art Diploma Seal

353 seniors graduating from Fulton County Schools will receive the Georgia Fine Art Diploma Seal upon graduation in May 2018.

SANDY SPRINGS, GA — More than 300 seniors from Fulton County Schools will receive an additional distinction when they graduate from high school. The Georgia Department of Education's Office of Fine Arts said 353 graduating seniors in the system will receive its Georgia Fine Art Diploma Seal.

The goal of the seal is to support students who are prepared for college and careers in fine arts related industries, who will one day be joining Georgia’s more than 200,000 artists, actors, dancers, musicians and arts administrators. It is a signal to employers and higher education institutions that a student is prepared to participate in Georgia’s robust Creative Industries sector, the school system notes.

This year saw the number of participation by school increase from nine to 13, and from 209 to 353 Fine Arts Diploma Seals earned. Students who obtain the seal have met the target fine art requirement by earning at least four full credits in a Fine Art/Creative Industry Pathway, completing 20 hours of arts-related community service and presenting a Capstone project.
