GDOT Begins Kimball Bridge Road Widening Project
The project calls for widening the highway from two to four lanes between State Bridge and Jones Bridge roads.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- Motorists should be aware that construction has started on the project to widen Kimball Bridge Road between State Bridge and Jones Bridge roads in Johns Creek.
The 1.25-mile project, which is being done in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Transportation, will widen Kimball Bridge Road/S.R. 120 from two to four lanes and calls for adding some turn lanes, beautification and pedestrian trails.
These lanes will add capacity to Kimball Bridge Road and provide a more expedient connection between State Bridge and Jones Bridge roads. Center left-turn lanes and deceleration lanes at subdivision entrances will pull traffic out of the through-lanes, allowing traffic to flow more smoothly.

The 10-foot-wide trails on each side of the road will add improved connectivity between sidewalks and trails on Jones Bridge Road to Alpharetta’s trail network. Weather permitting, the project is expected to be complete by the fall of 2018, the city of Johns Creek said.
