GDOT Wants To Improve S.R. 9 in North Fulton

The state agency on Tuesday will host a public open house at Alpharetta City Hall.

The Georgia Department of Transportation on Tuesday will hold a public hearing and open house on its plans to improve S.R. 9.

Residents are invited to come out and learn about GDOT’s plan to widen and reconstruct S.R. 9 from Upper Hembree Road to Windward Parkway in north Fulton County.

The informal open house will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 23 at Alpharetta City Hall. Residents will be able to ask questions and leave comments about the proposed widening for State Route 9 and other improvements.

“The proposed project will help accommodate current and future traffic needs in one of north Fulton’s fastest growing communities,” said Kathy Zahul, metro district engineer. “We encourage residents who are interested in learning more about the proposed project to attend the open house and give their input.”

Other proposed improvements to State Route 9 include side roads reconfiguration, multi-use path, sidewalks and signal upgrades project.

Residents can record their comments at the open house. The address for Alpharetta City Hall is 2 Park Plaza Alpharetta, Georgia 30009.
