Georgia Piedmont Youth Orchestra Performance To Hold Auditions

Auditions for Georgia Piedmont Youth Orchestra Performance at Centennial High School August 29, 2015. The Georgia Piedmont Youth Orchestra, now in its third year, will hold auditions August 29th, 2015, from 9 to 12, at Centennial High School.

Open to talented high school students, and currently under the direction of Rolando Salazar, applicants can register online at www.gpyoa.org., to schedule an audition time. Rehearsals will begin September 14 and will meet weekly throughout the school year at Centennial High School, 9310 Scott Road, Roswell, GA 30076.

Normally rehearsals are from 7 to 9 pm in the band room.

Maestro Rolando Salazar is the newly appointed Assistant Conductor of the Atlanta Opera as well as the Director of Music and Worship for the Atlanta First Presbyterian Church.

The GPYO is currently scheduled to play a minimum of three concert this year including a joint side by side concert with the all professional Johns Creek Symphony Orchestra. The scheduled music on that program includes the Brahms, Academic Festival Overture as well as music by Borodin, Wagner and Saint-Saens. In the second half of the program the JCSO will perform Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony in C minor. Additional information is available on the website: www.gpyoa.org
