Hooch Debate Students Crowned State Champs

Winning three elimination rounds in a row earns championship trophy

Two debate students from Chattahoochee High School have been named first-year debate state champions by the Georgia Forensics Coaches Association. Freshman Suraj Peramanu, left, and sophomore David Hauser, right, pictured with Kevin Bancroft, English teacher and head debate coach, far right, and CHS Principal Tim Corrigan, defeated teams from Westminster, Woodward and Marist. Peramanu and Hauser claimed the state championship trophy by winning three elimination rounds in a row.
