Hooch Principal Named NE Learning Community Area Superintendent

Tim Corrigan will be responsible for 13 elementary, 5 middle and 4 high schools in Johns Creek, Alpharetta and Roswell.

JOHNS CREEK, GA — The Fulton County School Board at its June 21 meeting named Chattahoochee High School Principal Tim Corrigan as the new area superintendent for the Northeast Learning Community.

In this role, which he begins July 1, Corrigan will be responsible for 13 elementary, five middle and four high schools in the cities of Alpharetta, Johns Creek and Roswell. In addition to supporting their day-to-day management, he will work with the schools’ principals and support staff to achieve their instructional goals.

“I am honored to be chosen for this important leadership role,” said Corrigan. “I am committed to the students and staff of Fulton County Schools, and as area superintendent, I have a greater opportunity to support their success.”

Corrigan became principal of Chattahoochee High School in 2015, and before that was its assistant principal for 11 years. He has taught health and physical education in Fulton and Gwinnett counties, and also was an assistant principal in Forsyth County.

“Mr. Corrigan has a reputation as a strong leader and is well respected in the community,” said Superintendent Jeff Rose, Ed.D. “His long-term knowledge of the Northeast Learning Community, as well as the entire school system, is an asset to this role.”

Corrigan earned his teaching certificate at the University of Illinois at Chicago, and attended the University of Georgia, where he earned a master’s degree in education and completed work toward a specialist’s degree in educational administration. He and wife, Denise, have three children who all have graduated from Chattahoochee High School.
