Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day Set For Nov. 4

The city of Johns Creek is teaming up with Keep North Fulton Beautiful to provide the initiative for its residents.

JOHNS CREEK, GA -- The city of Johns Creek and Keep Johns Creek Beautiful will join forces to host a Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day this weekend. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 4 in the parking lot of Target and Home Depot at 5950 State Bridge Road.

Pre-registration is required for this event, which will be available to Johns Creek residents only. You can register for the event at Keep Johns Creek Beautiful’s website and verify your Johns Creek residency by clicking here.

Items accepted at the collection drive include:

  • Paint (limit 10 containers, max 10 gallons combined)
  • Solvents, cleaners, aerosols
  • Herbicides, pesticides
  • Motor oils, anti-freeze, gasoline
  • Mercury (thermostats, thermometers)
  • Batteries and electronics (CRTs, monitors, etc.)
  • Propane cylinders, fire extinguishers, smoke detectors
  • Cooking oils
  • Fluorescent bulbs

Materials that will not be accepted include:

  • Medical waste, needles
  • Ammunition, explosives
  • Pharmaceuticals
  • Non-hazardous items
