JC Fire Chiefs Earn Professional Designation

Johns Creek fire chiefs receive international professional designation.

Fire Chief Jeff Hogan and Deputy Fire Chief Deron “Pat” Wilson have received the professional designation of “Chief Fire Officer” (CFO) from the Commission on Professional Credentialing (CPC).

Two of only 815 CFO’s worldwide, Hogan and Wilson successfully met all of the organization’s stringent criteria, including an assessment of their education, experience, professional development, technical competencies, contributions to the profession, and community involvement. The CFO designation program uses a comprehensive peer review model to evaluate candidates seeking the credential.

“Chief Hogan and Wilson both have a rich knowledge of the emergency services profession and have far surpassed critical core competencies for personnel serving in senior fire officer positions,” said Debbie Sobotka, CPC deputy director.
